Childlike Faith Sermon PowerPoint Template_001

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14).  These familiar Gospel words reveal not only God’s heart of love for young people, but also remind us that children and youth inhabit a special place in the Kingdom of God.

Here at Olivet Lutheran, we believe instilling a lifelong love of the Lord is the best way to honor Jesus’ command to welcome and nurture the very youngest members of our church family.  That includes discipleship opportunities such as:

  • Biblical and relevant curriculum at our Kids’ Church (Sundays at 10:00 a.m.), with a loving and committed group of adult leaders and helpers
  • Confirmation for our Middle School students, emphasizing learning the essentials of our Christian faith in an interactive, topical manner; in service to our church and community; and growing in Christian witness to the world
  • Lots of additional special opportunities to learn, grow, and serve throughout the year!
  • Some new, exciting ministries coming for our high school students—stay tuned!

Jesus, by his words and actions, showed us how important children and young people are to the Kingdom of God.  I believe that even as we disciple and teach our children, the whole church, in turn, is blessed by the energy, exuberance, and faith of our youngest members.  What an awesome God we serve!

At Olivet Lutheran, we are excited to partner with your family in offering our children and youth opportunities to grow in faith and love of the Lord Jesus Christ.  God’s richest blessings to you!
