This page is where you can find COVID-19 information in regards to our church and what our COVID response team looks at. Please continue to check this site if you have any questions about any phase we’re in and what that phase looks like.
November 19, 2020:

The Vision Board, Staff and Interim Pastoral Team have been discussing Olivet’s possible responses for the present elevated Covid situation in our area.  After MUCH discussion and prayer, here is our decision for the next 2 weekends:

  • No live services for this weekend, Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving weekend.  We will live stream (with no audience), the Saturday evening service.  The recording for that will be available online soon after on our website and the Olivet YouTube page.
  • The church itself will be open during the regular work days (8am-2pm).
  • If you would like to pick up communion mini-kits, please stop by the church.  If you would like some delivered, because you are unable to get to church or know someone who is unable, call the office (if you can volunteer to deliver, let us know that too).  We will have communion for the online service(s), so feel free to have communion at home as you follow along.
  • If someone is unable to access the online services, we also have an order of service that anyone can do for Home Communion.
  • All meetings at church, as of this email, are cancelled for this week and next.  Please take advantage of Zoom if possible.  Contact your group leader if you have any questions on meeting.

We made this decision with great hesitancy.  Meeting together as the body of Christ is an important part of the faith.  However, “love your neighbor as yourself” seems to speak into this moment right now, especially for our health care workers.
This is only a short term decision for this weekend and the next.  After that, we will re-evaluate.  Our definite bent is to meet!  Hopefully, the local Covid data will support that.
