FAQs about weddings at Olivet…

We are pleased that you are interested in having your wedding at Olivet. This page contains information that you will find helpful in planning your service.  Here is a complete copy of our Wedding Guidelines For Olivet booklet.

Membership: Due to our busy church calendar, we are unable to schedule weddings for couples that are not members of Olivet.

Wedding Coordinator:  Our wedding coordinator will walk alongside you as you plan your wedding, assisting with the details and answering questions. Her services are required if your wedding will be held at the church.

Request Form:  The first step in planning your wedding is to call us at 783-1484 or send an email to the church at info@olivetlutheran.org specifying the date and time you would like to schedule your wedding.  Please note that Saturday ceremonies cannot be scheduled later than 2:30 p.m. If you have an alternative date, please let us know that as well.  We will check those dates with the church calendar, the pastors and the wedding coordinator and let you know if those date(s) will work. Please let us know if your wedding will be held in the church or at another location.

Pre-marital CounselingWe offer a number of options to fulfill the pre-marital counseling requirement.  One option is a small group class entitled “Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts”.  Another option is Dave Ramsey’s “Financial Peace University” class.  If you are unable to attend one of these classes, the pastors will assist you in finding an alternative.

Wedding Rehearsal:  Unless otherwise indicated, all wedding rehearsals are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on the Friday before the day of the wedding. It is crucial that all persons involved in the actual ceremony be present for this rehearsal.  The rehearsal should last no longer than 45-60 minutes.

Fees:  The wedding fee of $210 covers the services of the wedding coordinator, the custodian and the sound tech.  Musicians’ fees are to be negotiated directly with them.  The pastors do not charge for their services.
